The first and most crucial item on your shopping list should be an enclosure for your ball python. Ball pythons are ground-dwelling snakes, so they require an enclosure that is long rather than tall. The ideal size for an adult ball python is at least 36 inches long, 18 inches wide, and 18 inches tall. It is essential to provide enough space for your snake to move around comfortably.
Substrate
The next item you will need is substrate, which is the material that lines the bottom of the enclosure. The substrate should be easy to clean, absorbent, and provide humidity for your snake’s shedding process. Aspen shavings or cypress mulch are popular choices for ball pythons as they hold moisture well and are easy to clean.
Heating and Lighting
